It doesn't even come CLOSE to mean that he thinks online players are BETTER..it just means that there are different SKILL SETS. For example: it's easier to click your stack away since you just push a button, but live you have to physically move chips that generally more represent 'real' money to players. Also, it's easier to get distracted online, IMO, because it's in your home and people surf the net, watch t.v., have S/O's or kids bothering them, etc. That's not to say there aren't distractions in a casino, but a good player may have an easier time live focusing, than online.
But what seems to be really driving dan's comment is he relies SO heavily on reading players and their tells, which is almost utterly absent online...so since that's not there, he considers himself greatly handicapped. It's not to say he couldn't learn to play well online and crush online tough competition, he's just saying that he doesn't - ATM - have the skill set for online high limit play.
