In this case maybe a check would have been better, since you were in the BB. They might not put you on a set, but they could be afraid of 2 small pairs or something like that.
After reading this I checked my PokerTracker stats for 16K hands, and looking at PP under TT, I was surprised to see that they are only about 1-2 BB/hand on the positive side. My 33, 55 stats are sligtly negative, the other slightly positive.
This suggests maybe I should tighten up calling raises with them and only call in late position... What do you think?
On the NL50 tables I call $2 raises with small PP, not call larger ones. So the stacks are 25x the raise, but it's not too often I get the other stack when I hit my set. Most of the time it's like ice's example, I bet or raise the flop hoping they have a large PP and I get a small pot... Interesting findings at least.
