I knew there was a reason that I never go to Texas. Guns and alcohol are ok to mix together.

That is the stupidest shit I ever heard.

Ok, I am the furthest right, flag waiving, Republican NASCAR dad redneck that populates this board, but hell, guns and alcohol do not mix. There, I said it. There are clubs in California that I will not duck hunt at specifically because of these Texas yahoos that think of Budwiser as mandatory gear in the blinds. WTF is wrong with your people? Get shitfaced afterward, I don't care. I'll probably join you.

Give Cheney a break. Shooting his buddy had to be one of the worst days of his life. There is no great conspiracy to cover up anything. It was an ACCIDENT. I saw some report yesterday that sad something like "Well Jim, I don't think that after this incident that Cheney will be as relevant in the administration, and Condi Rice will now have more influence over the direction of foreign policy." WTF? Talk about Hollywood, I think that was a sub-plot on the West Wing one Thursday night last year. Cheney is a Constitutional officer. He still gets to break tie votes in the Senate. He still gets sworn in if Bush 43 has a massive MI on the treadmill. Not too relevant I guess, good reporting sir.

Thinking Cheney should report this shooting up front is silly. Again, he was in Texas. If we stopped to call the law over every little bitty flesh wound, there wouldn't be enough laws left to write up the drunk driving wrecks.

He shot a two face lawyer. Let the guy use his other face. The liberal media is just trying to give drinking and hunting a bad name.

You wouldn't want the Vice President drunk looking like that Nick Nolte photograph doing a television interview in that god awful orange stuff. They called the Sheriff the next day. He didn't come out to see for himself because it is a real long way in Texas. It's not like everything is right across the street as it is in New York or England.

Coach Bob Knight also shot a guy accidentally bird hunting. He was cited for hunting without a license. That's unfair because the Vice President got off scott free and he didn't have a hunting license. I propose a Presidential pardon for Bob Knight.

From a tree hugging liberal I cant think of a better arguement for gun control than what I have just read.

I'm more of a libertarian than liberal or conservative.... And can't really tell if Johnny is jokin or not...

What do you think would've happened if he had died from that heartattack??? Is that manslaughter?

How is being drunk in control of a gun any different to being drunk in control of a car? Why should the law treat either behaviour differently?

We haven't had much coverage of this incident at all in the UK but, come on, going out hunting while you're whizzed off your tits on bourbon or whatever is not very smart, is it?

Mind you, as it was a lawyer who caught one in the mug, I'd describe more as "natural selection" than "manslaughter"...
