MHFlush posted a hand recently where he had top two on the flop, pushed, and lost to bottom set. The consensus was there's not much you can do there. forum/viewtopic.php?t=7229
Prima 6-max $100NL. Two limpers, I limp in LP with K[h] J[d], button min bets ($2). Limpers call and I call.
Flop (pot $9.50)--- K[d] J[c] 8[h]. Well dip me in chocolate and throw me to lesbians, that's about as good a flop as I could hope for.
I bet $8. Button calls and all others fold. Hmm. He min bet pf which usually means small pocket pair or Axs.
Turn was a brick ($25.50). I check and button bets $15. At this point, my read is he has a set of 8s. Button is a TAG. Yet I called.
River was a blank, he bet 1/3 pot and I called. He had 8[d] 8[c].
So the question is should I have put in a raise somewhere to test or was my check/call approach better?
