I didnt play at all last night ot this morning before work which felt really strange because I havent missed a single day of playing poker (not counting being on vacation) in 3 years.

Im now browsing this strategy forum and Im not at all interested in responding. I think this is an obvious sign of poker burnout. Ive never felt burned out before.

For a long time now Ive been pushing myself harder and harder and demanding perfection. Ive constantly been striving for the highest possible win rate and being dissapointed when I didnt have one of the highest win rates of anyone in my database I think this has taken a real toll on me.

I'll be back playing probably fairly soon, but not until I really feel like it. Not for any other reason.

And I wont be obsessing about my win rate as long as Im playing well. Im mean does it really matter if my win rate is 8PTBBs or 6.5PTBBs? Either way, Im making good money.

I'm going to add to what was being discussed on the 2nd page of posts :P

Ice, it seems to me that you've tried to move from being happy with a VERY good win rate, to trying to MAXIMIZE your win rate by pushing ever decreasing edges which just introduces variance and begins the slippery slope to opening up TOO much to the point where you're introducing variance AND cutting heavily into your win rate.

So, let me just finish that I realized how smart it was for me to STOP pushing all of those edges from your (and Kenny's) posts...you showed me that WeakTight/Rock play is MORE profitable than the TA eagle play (though I'm an UltraAgressor by excession's new ratings, my style of play is squarely WeakTight). So, get back to your roots and don't worry about maximizing your profits if you're happy with your current rate.

Ice , you know as we all do that poker is like heroin man you can't quit
Funny thing , I was telling my brother about my 3 week losing streak and he sad , just go on btp and check out what Ice wrote, he wants to quit , bla bla
It's all bs , we know it and so do you , we will never quit . I played live games since high school , on line for the last year and live when ever I get the chance
So what if you loose , it's not like you loose your pension fund , take it like you spent that 5 grand on your fake table image, those guys that took your money might just pay you back with intrest thinking you will pull the same moves
You do what ever you think it's best for you , I won't quit that's for sure and if it takes a month or two or a year I will read a post from you and it will tel us about your last win
Anyway there's a nice article in this months Card Player about pro poker players and the preasures that come with the lifestyle , ead it , it might just do some good for you , they know what they talk about
All the best to you, don't wory for a sec you'll be just fine

Thanks, guys. Probably the first time 8 years of writing paid off. And not a bit of it was an original idea.
