Even though I held 2 spades, I put him on a flush draw. People who bet small into the raiser like that are pricing themselves in, hoping that the original raiser will not come over the top. I waited until the river, planning to raise big, so long as the flush didnt come.
My read was dead on - he had the flush draw. Unfortunately, it was the

, which he showed to me after re-raising on the river. I knew exactly what he had - he just got lucky and backdoored the broadway.
Stuff like this has been happening to me way too often lately - my reads are dead on, but I am coming out on the short end of the stick time and time again. In all seriousness, in the last month and a half, I can think of over $20,000 worth of beats that I took where I got my money in with the best hand, where I was at least a 65% favorite.
Poker has been a real grind lately, I haven't cashed out in a month, after logging 2 cash-outs in back to back days.
Sorry, I just needed to vent.
