ALEX,

I read your responses to not checking the turn. I like the check the turn play maybe for a different reason than the others.

If you lead on the turn and are reraised, you are folding and wasting that lead money. You also don't really know what you are up against so you are leading blind.

By checking, you might have someone bluff you on the river, but i use the money I would have lost leading to call that bet. It's minimizing losses when I run into a set or better.

10BB/100 hands at 5-10NL. Thats more than 100USD/hour!! And I thought a friend of mine was rich cause he does about 85/hour. She is an orthodoncist.

If there is somebody up to the challenge, that s you Ice. Keep it going. Best wishes!

I'm still confused as to why min raising the river is best. Do you really think JJ or TT would call that? You could get a lot more money out of a set but I guess this might just be due to the fact that he didn't reraise you on the river. Maybe that min raise gave your hand away. I discount JJ or TT so I raise to make sure I get the money out of people that get gunshy with a lower set.

“The real things to know is that folks will stand to lose more than they will to win. That’s the most important percentage there is. I mean, if they lose, they’re willin’ to lose everything. If they win, they’re usually satisfied to win enough to pay for dinner and a show. The best gamblers know that.” - Pug Pearson

Yea. In hindsight I didn't see that he called a x5bb pfr. That's more of a pp than anything.

I love the min raise and that would've been my first thought...going to 500 would be my second...all in would be 2nd last on my list (just beating checking :P).

I think that people who think they're beat are far more likely to call the min river raise for a couple reasons: mostly, they're usually getting good pot odds to call, while he may not have called a 600 bet. The second reason is that it takes less energy in online poker to min raise than to think and type in a specific amount...and they're more inclined to call bets that look lazy, than well-thought out.
