Actually, I am pretty certain you're ahead here. A fish like that is almost a guaranteed raise on 88 (hope I don't have to eat my words) PF if their play at all resembles what I've been seeing lately.

He may think his A3 is a true monster and move in against your raise. Honestly, I think he'd also raise AJ or AQ more often than not. The more I think about it, the more I'd be inclined to go for it. If he calls a raise to $60, you should be able to put him in on the turn. The only card that would actually scare me there would be an 8, but I'm not even sure about that.

Two of my rules come to mind here:

1) Don't go broke in an unraised pot.
2) Two pair is strong until it meets lots of strength back.

I'd wait for another opportunity. Is he a fool, sure. But I don't like to play for my entire stack when I really don't know where I stand in the hand.

I would fold preflop.

I understand Kenny's point about raising b/c of the 2-way scare cards, but folding is too weak in my opinion and if you are committing your stack I think you have a better chance to bust him w/ a flat call since you have position. Worst case he has a set of 8s and you still have a few out to that anyway. He will most likely lead again on the turn and you can raise all-in there. The problem is that he will probably fold his Ax or Tx to your flop raise if that's all he has. If he has A8 then I think you bust him regardless of what the turn brings. (sans 8 of course)

I believe you are ahead here. As a fish he would most likely slow play a set or at least wait to raise any bet behind him. He also overbet the pot in early position. That looks like he is trying to protect a vulnerable hand and is trying to win right there. I would raise enough to insure that no one else comes along. If someone does you may be in trouble but does anyone at 100 NL slow play AA or TT (talking about the player behind you? I have no problem getting my stack in the middle against this guy with top 2.

I might need some help with your interpretation of DB's comment being obsolete. It might very well may be obsolete...but what I take from it is I'm not putting my whole stack at risk against an opponent who I have no read on (b/c no pfr) and could have flopped a goofy straight or something hard to see from the board. Maybe DB didn't intend this, but it's my take.
