but it's mostly about numbers and bullets.
Complete the following sentence with a number. No googling to get the correct answer, just think about what the # ought to be, more or less, and throw out your guess ....
"US forces have fired an estimated _____ bullets per insurgent killed in Iraq and Afghanistan during the wars in those countries to date."
(I'm thinking of old shows like the A-Team, or James Bond movies, where the Villains have automatic weapons that comically fail to hit anybody, ever, except maybe for a strategically placed wound to a leg that can make the hero's escape that much more dramatic. What is the real number like, in these wars?)
And yeah this'll probably turn into another argument about whether the war was a good idea in the first place ... but it'd be cool if it could, you know, not do that. This is just a post about estimating numbers.
(Oh, the answer I'm using is via globalsecurity.org ... I don't know much of anything about this outfit, and would be interested if anybody does.)
