Have you not seen Super Troopers? You would be the the first cop I know that hasn't. In fact most cops I know can recite the movie front to back.

Is that the one where in the previews the cops are wearing skin tight uniform shorts?

It looked stupid to me. I dont know anyone who saw it. It was actually good?

Have you ever arrested anyone for gambling? Poker, dice, etc.?

I have been arrested a handful of times for poker and raided more. I was arrested once at a dice game by the Texas Rangers, which is a great honor in our state.

The cops were always very friendly. One of my fondest memories was when they took down a huge game and took us all to the jail. Several of the older semi-famous early poker players were there. It was the first time I heard the real names of characters like Tennessee Longgoodie, Odessa Red, and Oklahoma Joe. There were two of them. The cops brought out the old pictures and criminal records. Everyone was laughing and having a huge time. Odessa Red had 44 thousand dollars, adjusted for inflation, that's like $440,000 now. The cops never drew their guns or stole any money. The fine was $15 for poker and $20 for sweating a game because so many would lie and say they were only watching. They only raided when there were complaints from neighbors.

At the major outlaw joint in West Texas where all manner of rounders gathered, the head Detectives would come around every so often to whisper in the corner with the outlaw bosses. I never knew what that was all about. They went hunting together. The Detectives came around at Christmas for a drink. I never asked how wired in the bosses were with the police and the Sheriiff's. I know they could call the jail and ask quesions and get favors.

Do the cops know where the poker games are around there and what is the policy on raids?

[quote="KJo"]Dude...something's very backwards about that statement.

Reno 911 **** rocks. I can't wait for the movie next week.

Eli

-------------------

I never saw the movie or even knew there was one, I was talking about some kind of series on TV, I might even have the name wrong...it's a parody of 'cops' and seems wicked corny.

And Super Troopers was wicked funny...

I loved the part where one cop bets the other cop he can't say "meow" 7 times to the car occupants during a trafic stop lol

"Meow, can I see your license and registration" (while his partner is on the passenger side holding his hand above the roof of the car so the occupants can't see while he puts up a finger for each time the cop says "meow"

Do you meow know how fast you were going? (partner puts up 2 fingers, etc)

Eventually the driver says somethign like "excuese me did you just say meow?
and the cop acts all mad "Do I look like a cat to you boy!" hahaha

The "meow" thing sounds like something a cop might actually do. One of the funniest things I ever saw was when a guy I know went outside to another cops car and put a whole bunch of baby powder in the air vents. Then he turned up the A/C fan full blast.

When the officer got into his car and turned it on, the baby powder came flying out everywhere. His blue uniform was completely white and he looked like the Pillsbury Doughboy. He went home for the night but first he had to walk into the station to turn in his paperwork and his radio and stuff.

The station was full of citizens who were taking a tour.

Would you mind revealing your winrates at 1/2 and 2/4 6max? (PTBB/100 + True Hourly Rate including multitable ratio if possible?)

What do you require from a table in order to keep playing at it? For example: You sit down at a 1/2 6max table at Tribeca and after a while it turns out the table VIP is below 30, and there's no ultra loose donk sitting there (still players you beat obviously). Keep playing or swap table?
