OK Jamie Xaston..you once helped me to win my first wsop seat. ever since i have struggled to find a way to repay you...i think we've just hit paydirt, as bar none, I have to say that there is no doubt in my mind that I've drunk more alcohol in the past say 5 yrs than anyone on this forum.

To the point..whoever said to be careful of sugar was correct. The faigy drinks wont hurt you with the alcohol per se, but the amount of sugar in the mixers will give you a hell of a hangover...fruit punches, lemonades, sodas (sprite or coke), ginger ales - any of that shit will kill you the next day. AVOID THESE unless you like pounding headaches or generally have a very high sugar intake (this leaves aside the issue of looking like a giant flaming Mary when you order a bahama mama, but we'll call this an added bonus).

So do drink:

Vodka. or any clear alcohol (much easier with respect to hangovers). I can literally drink screwdrivers all day and night and never get minute #1 of a hangover. Gin and Tonics will work here too but I suspect that Tonic has a good bit of sugar in it.

I have a feeling tat natural (easily digestible) sugar (like in OJ) is less harmful than your chemical sugars (like sodas etc), but this is amerely a guess.

Also, it is very important to remember that if you do feel sick, pull the trigger before you go to sleep. Lessens the hangover immensely. There is nothing less appealing than baking at the beach or pool when hungover...go get em junior.
