Anyways I am in a little bit of a lul from school so I have been able to get in sessions on back to back days. Today was not quite as good as yesterday.

I was down $350 in the first hour, I just couldnt make a hand. I missed a bunch of draws I played agressively, I missed with a pair and a flush draw, missed 2 oosd and one open ended flush draw.

I moved to a new table went on a little bit of a rush and ended only down $150. I did flop 2 sets but pretty much won the minimum and lost one hand I will talk about later. Totals for the session - $135 in 5.5 hrs.


Today is the first time in a long time I felt totally lost at times at the poker table and it doesnt feel good. I moved down to 2/3 NL and I just and my reading skills which were my best skill at 5/5 and 5/10 are broken at 2/3. It has been a long time since I have played 2/3 for more than one session. I am giving players to much credit for hands. Part of it is players make a ton more donkey plays at 2/3 than they do at 5/5. At the table I played at today I saw one of the players I thought was "good" make a sizeable raise preflop with K9, you just dont see that at the bigger levels.

Two hands from today

I have KK UTG, the table has been super agressive so I limp. It limps around 5 ways. Flop is . I check trying to get a read from players. Rock from mp bets $12, decent player in the middle calls. I decided to call and see a turn. Turn is a . Guy bets $12 again, now I'm pretty sure he is on draw, player in the middle calls again. I raise to $60 rock calls. He must be a draw river is a . I cant see how that helped him, I bet $80 thinking I am value betting, he pushs for another $220. I think and cant think I have the best hand. I fold and he shows . I didnt even see it coming, I didnt think there was any way a bluff was in this guys arsenal.

Final hand I play. I am UTG with QQ raise to $30, get 2 callers. Flop is J83 2 hearts, BB fires $40, I raise to $120. He looks at me and asks me if I AJ. Huh, Do decent players in this game really raise 7x BB from UTG with AJ? He ends up folding.

I have been running bad but today felt like I got outplayed a couple times which didnt make me feel good. I think maybe I need to lower my views on players in these games. I think maybe a lot of these players if they were really that good wouldnt be playring 2/3. Part of it is I have been having trouble hitting draws, I must have missed 10 - 15 consecutive flush draws which will eventually even out. I also havent been getting my big hands in good times, every time I flop a set no one else hits top pair to pay me off all the way to the river. There is a much larger donk factor in this game that I need to get used to. Lately the donks have chosen to give away their money to other people and not me, when I made a big hand the idiots have not been nice enough to make the big mistakes they seem to make against everyone else. I am begginning to remeber that this level is alot more about letting people make mistakes and pay you off. At my normal 5/5 game about half of the regulars were scared of me and avoided me which meant I was win pots without the best hand. At these tables no one will ever be scared of other players they are to busy playing their 2 cards.

Really long session playing 2/3 $300 in Oceanside and overall a good one.

I started off playing 4/8 limit which was the normal fun. I open raise with from the CO, button cold calls. Flop is . I bet, he calls. Turn is a . I bet, he calls. River is another brick. I check, he checks and he turns over J8o. Nh sir

Get to my NL game and am card dead for the first 2 hours. I managed to play 2.5 hrs without winning a hand. Finally I win a big hand and with a borderline hand. I limp from the button with A10. Flop is . Checks to me, I bet pot $15 and get 4 callers, crap. I am verys sure now that I have the best hand I'm just hoping that I can get a safe turn and take the pot. Turn is a good card . Checks to me again, I bet $100 and get 2 callers. One kid has $300 back and the other guy has $40 left. River is , I bet $150, shorty calls with K10, other guy folds and claims to have .

Funny hand. Villain is $300 deep, I cover. I call a $15 raise after villian does with . Flop is . PFR best $20, villian calls. I raise to $60. PRF thinks about it and folds. Villian calls quickly. Turn is / Villian pushs. I show him just the 5 and fold. He is not very happy, he asks me how I know he didnt have AQ. I tell him because he had a flush. He said "Whatever I played it like AQ, bad fold." Ummm yeah bad fold for him since I didnt pay him off.

Less than a round later. I look down at KK. Gets raised to $15 and 1 caller. I raise to $60. Raisor who has $250 to start the hand calls. Flop comes A33, Villian pushs, I fold.

As I said this 2/3 is all about players donking off money, and hoping that you are the one they decide to donate a stack to. This is my donation hand. Villian is a really bad player and is 2 buy in deep already and just rebought for a 3rd buy in. He has $300. He raises to $20. I look down at QQ and reraise to $60. He calls, flop is 10109. He checks, I bet $100, he thinks for a while and pushs. I call and he shows . His 2 outter miss's and he donates me $300.

KK again. Donkey raises to $15 one caller. I raise to $50. Both call, worst possible flop AQJ. Villian #1 checks, Villian #2 bets $125. I fold, villian #1 push and shows AJ. I roll my eyes. He asks me "were you wired up?" This is the level of stupidity at this game.

One bad hand for me. I limp AQ. Flop is Q107. Checks to me i bet $20. New player min raises to $40. I decide to call and see a turn. Turn is an A. He bets $50, I raise to $150, he pushs for another $100. I call, he has 77 for the flopped set and I miss my 4 outs.

I am still having major issues making my big pairs win. I have been making large preflop raises 10x and bigger, just some bad flops, finally got to be the beneficiary of a nice donkoff. I have also been having issues hitting sets 10 hrs of poker yesterday without flopping a set. Hopefully a bit of a unswing is in my future. I am winning but with a couple of better cards with the KK twice and trips, it could have been a monster session.

Overall +$450 9.75 hrs

So I guess the "Oh woah is me" text was a little premature?

You just can't win with K-K in a live game - it's the god damn truth and you know it - I've never seen so many A-rag flops or three low flush cards or some crap like that when you have K-K, and you always get check-raised all in or some ridiculous crap.

You really must hate life whenever you get K-K huh? Just wonder to yourself "How much am I gonna lose this time?"

Now if you had MY PROBLEM of not being able to win with A-A.....

I wish there was an emotion for jealousy...

Oceans sounds like a good game, hope its still like that in '08.
