Why not:

1) I crashed my first pickup into a telephone pole at 80mph without a seatbelt on at age 16. I have facial scars and am lucky to be alive.

2) I skipped the 3rd grade and graduated high school at age 16. I never learned to write in cursive script as that was taught in 3rd grade.

3) I have worked seemingly countless jobs, including as a dishwasher, a keno writer, a mongolian bar-b-que cook, a butcher, a recruiter for a law school, and as a attorney. I am currently a stay-at-home dad.

4) I have hiked the length of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California via the John Muir and Pacific Crest Trail, and have completed about 540 miles of the PCT. I have participated on trail maintenence crews to help keep the trails in top shape, and to repair storm and grazing damage.

5) I graduated 3rd in my law school class and was named by the law school faculty as having made the greatest contribution to the graduating class. I found the practice of law to be unenjoyable.

6) I met my wife at law school orientation. She is from the same town as several of my family members. My cousin remembers quite vividly the time when they were in the fouth grade that she kicked him in the nuts. She doesn't remember doing it. I am pretty sure he had it comming.

7) I went to Chico State back in the day. 'Nuff said.

8) I have been to every major Mayan ruin with the exception of Palenque. I had a ride arranged to Palenque from San Cristobal de las Casas, but stayed up the night before drinking caldo de frutas. I will make it back to Palenque, and take the river trip to Tikal.

9) I once carried an elderly woman across a rain swollen flooded street in the highlands of Guatemala.

10) My favorite commercial beer is Booneville Oatmeal Stout. I am a capable home brewer and winemaker.

That's three of us who took less than the usual 12 years to graduate from grade school. Any more?

I'd love to join in with a confessional biography, but (thanks to me) people I work with read this site and I want to keep my job.
