Euri, you should see Once Upon a Time in the West. It's far, far better.

You're probably right, Euri. I should rent it and watch it again, but the thought of sitting through a three hour movie right now is more than I can bear. I've gone from owning three hundred DVDs to not watching a movie at all in six months. My time just seems so limited that if I had three hours to spare, I'd rather make a little money playing cards.

Glad you enjoyed it. Frankly, my favorite Sergio Leone movie is Nobody is still My Name. If it were on DVD, I'd be delighted. It's like he wanted to parody himself, then halfway through decided it was a pretty good story, got serious, and finished it off with a flourish. Just a damn good movie, and gut-busting funny at a lot of times.

I'd nominate it as Best Picture Nobody Has Seen.

I remembered one of the top all-time movies last night that nobody has mentioned. It even has a funny poker scene or two in it:

The Sting!!

It's on my "I've-seen-this-movie-ten-times-and-hope-to-see-it-ten-more-times" list. Fun, fun flick. If you've never seen it, you have got to check it out. It's not quite Casablanca, but then what is?

OK My turn.....Most have been mentioned before, but........

In no particular order....

1. Casablanca---A true classic...

2. The Princess Bride---Just because I am a cranky old cynic LOL...I just love that movie (INCONCEIVABLE!!)

3. Shawshank Redemption---Pretty safe to say one of the best movies in the last 20 years...

4. Godfather 2...enough said

5. Lonesome Dove---Although made for TV, this was (IMHO) the best thing that television has ever done...I forgot who commented on the actors, and I didn't read the book until after I saw the movie...I just cannot picture anyone else than Duvall and Jones as the leads...As an old cowboy, this was truly a classic...(and besides, Diane Lane was -and still is---HOT!!)

2 random comedy choices---Clerks was a riot...and Zoolander was a GREAT satire...(yup I am tired of Stiller too)...

Enjoy...
