My idea of Hell

Postby NWCougar » Mon Apr 17, 2006 8:20 pm

Being raised Catholic I spend a lot of time thinking about what hell must be like. I think it would be living your worst nightmare, over and over until pennence is paid. My nightmare has always been floating in the middle of the ocean, at night with a good moon, calm and still water, and the occasional white shark swimming up and eating me. That being said, I came across this picture last night and and got no sleep at all.

So, what's your idea of Hell, if you believe in one?

I don't know why but seeing his fins below the water creeps me out the most.

i don't believe in "hell" in the traditional sense. that being said, if there is a hell, i think we're living on it. that is, it will appear to be that way in any kind of "afterlife".

anyway, back to the scary stuff...

i've never been scared of sharks. don't know why. i've really had to battle with snakes, though. about 10 years ago i got to the point that i could make the snakes in my nightmare behave. no problems since then.

my personal hell would be to be unable to communicate effectively. for example, i can think and speak, but everyone misunderstands what i'm saying. hhhmmmm, maybe i'm experiencing that now. anyway, my grandfather had a stroke, and he could only say "shit" and "no", even though he very clearly could think. he could sing whatever he wanted to say, but had too much pride to do that. the comedy of my grandmother trying to converse with a man with a 2-word vocabulary still haunts my brain. anyway, i'm crossing my fingers that i don't have a debilitating stroke.

In 6th grade my teacher, Mr. Toland, was one of those people who breed snakes. He had 2 pythons and a Boa in our class. He let us stay in during recess and watch him feed them and he would walk around class and put them over our shoulders. It was great and a lot of kids who were terryfied at the beginning of the year were over their fear by the end of the year.

My hell; listening to my ex tell me I'm wrong over and over and over again and not be able to speak up and defend myself. Getting eaten by a shark sounds like fun compared to that, at least previous to be eaten by the shark you can enjoy looking at the moon and swimming around in the water.

Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

I had a burmese python for several years. He was 9 feet long and only bit me once, when I tried to take him out drunk one night when he was ready to be fed. I remember pulling his top teeth out of my palm. The blood squirted a good 8 feet. Good thing the booze dulled the pain.
