Yep, too much for a player with not alot of upside and turning 32 next year. He might stay consistent for the next six years, which would be impressive, but I think he probably should only earn about 12M a year MAX. There are a few good things going for having Lee though - 1)the short porch in left at the Astro's home park; he'll probably hit a couple more HR's and it will be easier playing defense in left 2)Lee's SO rate decreased this year, so he's putting more balls into play 3)his durability - he's only missed 14 games in the past 4 years, one of them possibly do to the trade last year. For me, that means he is a good bet to put up the numbers you paid for. 4)protection for Berkman - Lee will be able to hit Berkman in for all those times he gets on base which is a ton.
I think it will be a good fit there, even though the Astros still overpaid.
