If you're convinced that having more Democrats win nationwide will help online poker, here's something you can do to help that happen. Won't cost you a dime.

Go to this page ....

http://www.mydd.com/images/user/217/Use_It.htm

and if there are any Senators or Reps from your state, call them and ask them to donate 30% of their cash on hand to the Democratic party to help spend money on races nationwide. This is a list of Democrats who have either no Republican opposition or such a pathetic Republican running against them that they can't possibly lose the race this time around. A bunch of them are sitting on bunches of campaign cash that could be spent in close races all over the country.

This is a new movement, driven by internet sites. It's a really interesting idea.

The only guy who has so far promised to give 30%? None other than our good friend Barney Frank.

...the problem IS NOT THE REPUBLICANS...the problem is your stupid democratic system where you can tack on SMALL but unpopular legislation to HUGE and VERY popular legislation...not many demoncrats would be able to vote against the port bill even if they rejected the smaller anti gabling bill...

BK, the problem is both the system, and those who manipulate it. In this case, it's the Republicans who did the tacking-on of an online poker bill to a must-pass bill, not the Dems.

So, who would be the person on this forum who would have the best chance to be elected? I would assume it would be one of the younger crowd of course, so they could be groomed properly. What we do is set aside a small percentage of funds into investments, groom a candidate, and eventually get him into a position of power where he can effect change. This process would probably take about 20 years, give or take a few depending on where the candidate we groomed was running and the state of affairs at the time.

So, let's get going. Anyone want to spearhead the effort? And who wants to be the guy who gets into office?
