NES and SNES games

Postby EscapePlan9 » Fri Dec 23, 2005 5:43 pm

I only have three weeks left until break ends! Here's the predicament:

I have now beaten every Star Wars game on the SNES and am moving onto beating all the NES Double Dragon's. What other NES or SNES series should I complete?

Of course I'll go through the Mario's and Zelda's again. Xaston suggested Turtle's, Final Fantasy's, Chip and Dale's, Megaman's, and Ninja Gaiden's. I probably won't be able to fit in too many RPGs, so I'll have to skip the SNES FF2 and FF3 for sure.

What else would you suggest? I am specifically looking at series, so no individual games.

edit: Changed the subject title to a more relevant one. The original title was "Serious post!! I need help with this decision". So much for my April Fool's joke! Oh yeah, and happy belated birthday to Tightwad. I know it must have been his birthday sometime before today.

Star ocean has a game on SNES, PS, and PS2. Haven't played the latest one, but the other two were incredible RPG's. That's all I can really think of. I didn't start really playing snes until I got an emulator to download all the games I couldn't find

"Serious post" and "what game should I play next" just dont seem to go together.

I really like that game where the little guy jumps around from cube to cube. Q-Bert I think they call it. Get that one!

Dont you like racing games??

I got my PSx when I first played Gran Turismo. I got tired of crushing everybody and put the PSX on th closet. Until GT2. After I played for a million hours I got tired and gave away my PSX. When i found out GT3 was on the shelves I got my PS2. I gave it to my little cousing after playing the regula million hours. After they released GT4 I bought the new slim PS2. My sister has the system and as soon as they release GT5 I´ll buy the PS3.

I think those game are a must!!! Just in case you only like action/adventure games I have to recommend:

1.- Mario series.
2.- Metal gear Solid (Only played the PSX version - original MGS1)
3.- Crash Bandicoot series (including crash team racing) . I really liked these!! Remind me of old Mario and Luigi on the NES).

Yes, I was fooling around with the title of this post. But this is a serious question, I'm not kidding. I wanted some more recommendations on SERIES of NES/SNES games to complete. I know, I know, it's not the same thing as "my dog died" or something of the sort (since dogs are far more important than human lives anyway).

I have the Star Ocean on SNES, but it's a lengthy RPG. I loved the PS version, which inspired me to check out the SNES one. It's a great game - just too lengthy. Like I said, I want to complete series of games within the duration of my break.

Q-bert... I haven't played that in a while. I remember struggling with the controls at first and falling off the stage. If there's no Q-bert 2, then I'm going to have to skip it for now. I feel like winning SERIES of games. Not just individual ones. I'll try it out again and play it more later, still.

Chrono Trigger is one of my favorite RPG games. It takes too long to complete and there isn't a sequel, so this will not do. Like I said... cannot be too lengthy and has to be a series.

Alex - I am specifically looking at NES/SNES games since they are easily available via emulation. I do enjoy racing games like Mario Kart, Rock 'N Roll Racing, Daytona USA, Ridge Racer, and Gran Turismo.

So far Xaston is the only one to recommend series of games that meet the criteria. Don't tell me you guys never played NES and SNES games!!! I know I am neglecting numerous series of great games!

i could never beat the original TMNT for nintendo so if you could do that, props!

how about the tecmo bowl series which as far as i know, is just 2 of them.

contra series, should take you about 2 hours total.

if you want to spend some actual time, ever hear of Romance of the Three Kingdoms? my favorite of its kind. Basically build up armies and try to take over china. 2 of them on NES.

does it have to be a series? Friday the 13th is really hard to beat on NES.

Never had a SNES so can't help you there.

Mario bros before stupid hoes.

Getting laid requires me to deal with more stupid drama and vapid girls that I am entirely sick of at the moment. It's not like I buy prostitutes and am regular customers like you and MVP.

This break is supposed to be a break.

I LOVE Tecmo (Super) Bowl! I've beaten it countless times and play it at least for a few minutes every month.

I have now completed:

Star Wars series (two NES games, three SNES games)
Double Dragon series (three NES games)

I'm on the final part of the Mario series with Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, so I've completed 3 NES Marios and 2 SNES Marios.

I'm not sure which series I'm playing next. I really want to get to playing Castlevania 2, so I might go with the Castlevania series. And earlier today I was watching a speed-run video of someone beating TMNT in under twenty minutes, so I think I'm going to do the TMNT series after Castlevania. (Watching that video brought back a lot of nostalgic moments.)
