Though I had a strong position in the earlier debate, it was obviously one where both sides had considerable merit. I mean, it was something that could go either way based on perception, personal opinion and such.

This guy here is contradicting something I personally saw with my own 2 eyes. If someone wants to argue the theoretical reasoning behind al qaeda's actions or the merits of the patriot act, this is up for debate. If someone wants to tell me that those buildings came down from a bomb (and a conspiracy organized by the US govt), I'm going to tell them to f off because i physically witnessed the event and saw planes hit the building with enough force to destroy them.

Not even sure I understand what youre getting at with the parallel youre attempting here, but the situations have nothing to do with each other.

Actually...what's amazing is that it DID withstand that! It was the fire melting the structure after the explosion due to the insufficient fire proofing that caused the actual collapse...amazing that the building didn't actually fall because of the crash, only the fire afterwards.
