I don't think the dealer should comment on whether someone is losing or winning or not. This one time last time I was down here, I lost a huge pot ($1400 at a 2/3 200 buyin game) when I pushed with top pair + oesfd and villian called with naked aces. The dealer looked at my hand then at me and said "wow" and that's it. About 5 minutes later the lady who won the pot left the table and someone new took her seat, the dealer told him it was a lucky seat and mentioned the hand again. That pissed me off a little, as a) it poured salt into the wound and b) it gave information to my opponent that he wouldn't otherwise have. I think it's best to just stay out of it.
No I don't think it looks stupid but the dealer will have to speak throughout the hand (ie, please post your blind sir; it's your action; did you say raise? etc etc) to keep the game running efficiently. You don't need to make small talk between hands though if that's what you're asking.
Poker is silly.
It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.
Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
