Airfare - fly Jetblue... Pretty sure it goes nonstop to Vegas from JFK, and it's BY FAR the best airline to take.... If not, Spirit and America West (bleh) are your other two choices...

Hotel - depends how much you wanna spend... I usually stay at Treasure Island, but it's way at the north end of the strip, and they dont have a poker room... I'm looking at the rates around those times, and I would go for the Monte Carlo... they have a pokerroom, it's decently close to all of the main pokerrooms, and it's only $133 a night.. By comparison, MGM is 187 and Bellagio is 209, and I don't really think either of them is as nice room-wise as MC.... I WOULD say the Wynn just for newness, as its only about 210 a night, but its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO far away from all the other casinos its a real cunt and a half to get around anywhere... Also, if you wanna play 2/5, their game is no cap, and can get HUGE, especially around WSOP time I'm sure...

Where to play - I LOVE Caesars... HUGE room, horrible players, and they have a 1/2 $500 max game, which is hella tite... Rhound likes MGM, which is very action packed, and is also good... Mirage used to be decent, but last time i was there, the average age was death + 15... meh...

Rio - it's about 2 minutes from the strip... Easy taxi ride.. You can see it from the strip... Either way, you're a tard if you don't rent a car in Vegas while you're there... I NEVER understand people that dont... It only costs about $20 a day, which is less than you're gonna spend on taxis... Valet parking is free... Its gonna be approx. 150 degrees at all times while you're there... If you wanna go downtown, a cabride is like $15 each way or some shit... meh

Things to do - stripclubs there have the same shitty setup as the ones in NY... Either they're titty bars where they serve liquor, or full nude where they charge you $25 for all the kool aid you can drink... Moral of the story, bring a hipflask...

AllStar, It really isnt going to matter where you stay in terms of getting to the Rio. There is nothing that is walking distance especially Vegas in July. Plan on it being 100+ with the occasion T-Storm. In the poker rooms section I wrote a review of almost all the poker rooms in Vegas, though it doesnt include Caesers since I havent player there yet. I will add Caesar and the Venetian after this weekend.

While your there the Rio is going to be the place you really want to play, though during the days the main event is running their wont be any seats open for side game action until after the day is over. Some of the best action I have ever seen was at the Rio during last years WSOP.

As for where to stay, I am usually a cheap bastard and stay wherever I can find the cheapest rates. Check out hotels.com and Vegas.com. Vegas.com also has a nice map of all the hotels and their layout on the strip.

thanks rhoundie

i could really care less about the quality of the accomodations. money isnt really a factor, but the way i see it, the more of paradise's $2k for accomodations i could put to good use (liquor and 2/5 500NL) the better. ive heard good things about the monte carlo.

whats the gold coast like?

does that mean its average M?

I mean, I'm sort of like a cockroach when it comes to this type of shit - I can put in 3/4 days without any sleep, so if the room has a shower I'll be pretty much set - I gess what matters most is location/proximity to other attractions/poker rooms etc...as for renting a car M, while it might be +EV from a strictly monetary point of view, I dont plan on being sober enough to drive at any point in the trip, so a rented car would just be a 6,000 pound albatross as far as I'm concerned. no thanks. I'll still with Mohammed Siddiqi and his 2002 Town Cat - thanks. Unless you'll be around to drive?

Allstar -

Need I admonish you to remain relatively sober during the WSOP event? Unless, of course, you were wasted when you won that freeroll, in which case you gotta dance with the lady that brought ya. . . . .

Hmmm, if MVP is there the same time as you Allstar I think there needs to be a drinking contest.
