Don't know much about screen needed to multitable, but Toshiba is hard to beat for durability. I work in a real tough dust/dirt/humidity job, and plug in and unplug multiple times per day with various devices. Generally agreed among portable folks that Toshiba is the toughest as far as durability.

I would suggest if money isn't a problem getting and Alienware one.

Get a dell inspiron 6000. They have 15.4 inch screens. Get a gig of ram and the better battery. I would also upgrade the monitor to the best one they have.
