I am winning exactly 71% with AKs and AKo - my BB/hand is $1.51.

I have had 3,000 hands at this limit and 42 of them.

I usually raise if first in and call if there are limpers. I almost never raise out of the blinds with AK unless it is short of callers.

I don't fall in love with it - just lucky I guess.

Ok Proplayer:
You raise to $8 before the flop and get called. What do you do now? You have hit your King. If he checks do you bet and how much. If he bets small do you call or reraise or fold. If he bets the pot do you fold without a second thought?
I'm not having a go at you. I am having that much trouble with AK lately and really need some help with it.
It is a good thread and I don't think we have gone off the AK theme.....yet. :)

I seldome limp with AK - my not in the blind PRF % is 90. I make the standard (for me) raise usually $2 w/50c BB.

If I if is checked to me and I raised I will make a continuation bet most of the time. If I get called then I am usually done with the hand. If I get raised I usually muck it.

If I got too many callers and I am OOP and missed the flop I check and fold.

If I hit the flop a King bet and get raised then I think about it. 50% I will fold.

If there is a raise and a re-raise in front of me I will muck AK like it is 23.

If I raise and get reraised I most often will fold AK.

w/AKs I have had 6 hands and won 66% - all before the showdown. Other 2 folded on the flop.

w/AKo I have had 26 hands and won 71% - 50% W$WSF and 50% W$SD

Hard hand to play.

This was the first hand that I had with AK at this limit at FTP and it was a lesson for me. I lost $31 on this hand and that represented a lot of hands where I just won the blinds. I was invested $6 and should have let it go. It is better to be bluffed out of $4.25 than lose a whole stack ($26) of chips.

FullTiltPoker Game #191958864: Table Casino Center - $0.25/$0.50 - No Limit Hold'em - 2005/08/21
Seat 1: worim ($49)
Seat 2: sgrant8287 ($39.05), is sitting out
Seat 3: lucifil ($15.30)
Seat 4: AlamedaMike ($31.10)
Seat 5: steeldolphin ($31.60)
Seat 6: DougPapa ($11)
Seat 7: yeah right ($53.55)
Seat 8: -4WS-Madman ($119.55)
Seat 9: Shadowbxr ($27.15)
Shadowbxr posts the small blind of $0.25
worim posts the big blind of $0.50
The button is in seat #8
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to AlamedaMike [As] [Kc]
lucifil folds
sgrant8287 stands up
AlamedaMike raises to $1.75
steeldolphin folds
DougPapa folds
yeah right folds
-4WS-Madman calls $1.75
Shadowbxr folds
worim folds
*** FLOP *** [Kh] [6c] [4h]
AlamedaMike bets $4.25
-4WS-Madman raises to $8.50

Today at this point in the hand all I have is TPTK and I have been re-raised. I am most likely beat and today I would have folded here.

A call was bad - either fold or raise.

AlamedaMike calls $4.25
*** TURN *** [Jc]
AlamedaMike bets $20.85, and is all in
-4WS-Madman calls $20.85
AlamedaMike shows [As] [Kc]
-4WS-Madman shows [4s] [4c]
*** RIVER *** [Ks]
AlamedaMike shows three of a kind, Kings
-4WS-Madman shows a full house, Fours full of Kings
-4WS-Madman wins the pot ($59.95) with a full house, Fours full of Kings

How many fold here?

FullTiltPoker Game #219336790: Table Crestline - $0.25/$0.50 - No Limit Hold'em

Seat 5: michwolv ($37.85)
Seat 6: AlamedaMike ($49.50)

AlamedaMike posts the small blind of $0.25

The button is in seat #5

*** HOLE CARDS ***

Dealt to AlamedaMike [Kd] [Ad]

6 folds, michwolv raises to $1, AlamedaMike calls $0.75, 1folds

*** FLOP *** [2d] [Jc] [6d]

AlamedaMike checks

michwolv bets $2.50

I have a nice draw here but it is a draw HU. I hit my [d] and I do not think I will get paid. My [Ad] might be an out but I am not sure. I folded.

He showed his hand.

He showed his hand he had pocket Aces. If I call and do not hit a [d] on the turn he is going to bet so much that I should not call. If I hit my [d] I am pretty sure his will fold unless he is a muppet.

So a call here is 4:1 to make a flush on the Turn with 2:1 pot odds.
