Hey all first post here.

Any insight on a 200 sit and go on party poker why people raise 171 next to the big blind with 3 callers? The real question is whether or not this weird bet has any relavence or signifigance.

That's probably it.

I've seen guys use odd bets. They are trying to be clever. They have probably spent a lot of time working out what bet size would appear to put the most chips stacked out in front of them, so the size of the bet appears large and intimidating. While it might have a tactical advantage over some noobs, it's pretty much a silly thing to veterans.

lol I had one guy on poker room consistantly raise 99 199 299 etc. I said I'd give him the dollar to raise proper amounts. I assumed what others had said, he was using odd amounts to make you th ink of the bet and not the hand..... when I re raised him 396 it made him think a bit.
