I'd be down for another fantasy baseball team, I already drafted an offensive juggernaut team in my 14 team league, I'd think we'd need at least 8-10 teams though otherwise it wouldn't be that much fun.

AL West - OAK (fairly easliy too I think, the Angels lack all offense besides Vlad and lost Byrd and Washburn, two underrated parts of their rotation. Texas will always be Texas, no matter Kevin Millwood, Adam Eaton or whoever other starters they sign)

AL Central - ChiSox (only got stronger from last year, I see them winning by 7-8 games at least)

AL East - Toronto (yeah, I'm calling this my upset special. NY rotation is old and turning decrepit, RSox pitching is quite suspect as well, a lot rides on Schilling's health and I don't like their pen)

WC - Cleveland (despite saying the sox would win the division by 7-8 games, Cleveland will be the wildcard because CHI could easily win 100+ games, I'm thinking somewhere in the 107-8 range. Cleveland is young and talented, Hafner is an underrated monster and their pitching staff has improved)

NL West - Honestly who cares. They'll be out in the first round anyway. For argument's sake I'll say SF because despite their age their players still can mash some, and Smidht-Lowry-Cain is by far the best starting group in the division.

NL Central - St Louis (this is pretty much a constant, I don't see the stro's catching up to them and the Cubs just won't do anything under Dusty or almost anyone else for that matter

NL East - Atlanta (I just can't pick against them, everytime I do I get burned, so why start now)

NL WC - NYM (with that lineup and payroll I figure they'll have to make the playoffs, and since ATL is winning the division they go here)

If Harden stays healthy he has a legitimate shot, but with a League consisting of Santana and Holliday it'll be damn tough for him to get it. Although the idiot panel does like to put a lot of worth in pitchers wins, as evidenced by Colon over Santana last year and Clemen's -2.00 ERA pitching in Minute Maid half the time third place finish.

MVP's come from winning teams for the most part, and I think this year will be the emergence of Eric Chavez as MVP! (alright I'm a Homer, but if he'd play the whole season like he plays in June-August he could finish .300/100/100/35/.900 and a Gold Glove for a division winning team. This is the year!)

Sheets is having shoulder issues again, I don't think he can stay healthy enough. Also everyone likes Mil to pick it up this year, but I don't think they'll win enough for Sheets to get it. I like Pedro this year for the Cy if he gets his foot straightened out.

David Wright may not get many votes because he's a young'un but he looks like he'll be a superstar in the future. Pujols has this locked up this year again I think unless a certain someone emerges in SF (no not Pedro Feliz) again to hit 35+ HR and a .500+ OBP and lead the team to the playoffs. But I think they won't vote for him just out of hatred anyway.

Speaking of Pedro.........ever notice how his HBP #'s went down once he moved back to the NL. Last year he hit only 4 guys.....only 4, for someone who is called a head hunter! The year before in the AL he hit 16 batters. Hmmmm, not the same when you have to actually step into the batter's box is it Pepe?

I also think the fact he doesn't have to face the yankees as much anymore contributes to the lowering of his HBP numbers.

Ok - I will take the liberty of setting up the BTP Fantasy Baseball League this evening. Does anyone care if we go for roto scoring (accumulating points in various categories) or head to head scoring where you play a different team each week and your accumulated points decide the winner?

I personally like head to head better but I don't really give a shit with respect to which sort of league we choose.

Yeah, I was thinking Sheets has to stay healthy when I wrote that. Can't believe Wood and Prior are hurt again or should I say I would be suprised if they weren't. I'm not sure what to make of Pedro this year. He's gonna have to have a big year though if the Mets are gonna make the playoffs.

Chavez is one of the top players in the league, but he just doesn't seem to have consistance. He does have help this year if Bubba and the Big Hurt can stay healthy. Pitching should be very good once again. Texas is only about 1 big arm away though. They'll be better this year too. Lineup is packed.
