200nl on stars. 1/2 blinds.
have $195. UTG has $100. he is very loose - he's a sooooooooted player.
I'm dealt
[Qs] in the SB.
UTG limps. folds to me, I limp, BB checks.
$6 pot - 3 way
Flop:
[9c][8h] - checks around
turn:
-checks around
river:
- Ok, now i get to have some fun.
The way i look at this board, i figure i can either win uncontested if they have nothing, win a smallish pot if they have a piece of it, or win a big pot if i overbet and they have a piece of it.
I bet $12. BB folds, and UTG min raises me. Yahtzee. I'm fairly confident that utg has either a Jack or two spades. so my only question now is how much can i extract from him? i reraise to $48, he calls with
[9h] and i win a pot about twice as big as i would have if i had lead out for $6.
Now, against your average player, it should seem fairly obvious what i held. Against fish though, overbetting the pot can be oh so much fun.
