Here is some background on the situation.

My friend hosts a home game at his apartment twice a week. We play either $50 tournaments or 1/2 cash games. Even though our main purpose is to hang out with friends and have some fun, you can also consider it a serious home game of sorts. Which leads to last night's events.

Two situations occurred.

1st: During our tournament (blinds/board etc don't matter). A girl raises 3x the bb and gets 3 callers, one of whom is her bf. The flop is xxx. All check to girl, who bets, gets one caller, then her bf raises 6x the bet. She calls and the other caller folds. They say "We're shooting it right?" They then check check the turn and river.

2nd: After our tournaments we had a cash game. Four people limped in, girl raises to 20 all four call. the Flop is K72, all check to the razor, she bets 30, gets two calls, then her bf says "Hun I will protect your hand." then moves all in for about 700, he has everybody covered. She calls and the others fold. The hands: gf has 44, bf has 52o, and the 44 holds. The gf then gives back all of the bf's money trhat was put into the pot then splits the money that was called on the flop.

Would like to hear opinions first before I give my take on it.

100% cheating. I would insist they don't play at the same time. Or repeat any hands that any players complain about, if both of them see the flop. Best thing would be to not let them play at the same time. Poker is not fun if someone is colluding.

Did you even have to ask? Of course this is cheating. Though, I'm surprised you allowed situation 2 to happen without the people involved spending some time in the hospital after the tournament. I'd beat the shit out of both of them, if I was you. It's +EV.

they are so obvious about it they might not even realize it's blatant cheating. you can't let this happen again. i would have everyone talk to them before the next game starts.

If I am ever by your town, JSBC, I'd like to join those games. They are BAD!!!! Jeez!

Ummmm. I think you want them cheating. If BF calls raises with 52o then puts in $700 after a K72 flop, by all means let them cheat.

Ok it's pretty obvious that yes they were cheating/colluding.

They are BIG BIG losers in our game, I estimate they've lost at least 7-10k in our game in the last year.

Knowing that, what should be done and why?

If you want them to keep playing but not make it obvious, institute a no table talk rule.

Well, I would slowplay every set I had until the end of time if she bet out first, I believe.

If they are losing that much though, there isn't much they could do wrong to get me to want them to leave the game. If they weren't contributing or if they ever get any better, I think you call a stop to it immediately by rallying your friends together and explaining what exactly they are doing if they don't understand.

Winning money from cheaters...now that sounds better than just won money.

Yikes. Hard to believe anyone would allow it, even if they are huge contributors to the game. Incredible. In the Great Donkey Contest of 2006, we have leaders in the clubhouse.

if someone had burned through $10K @ my home game and occasionally did stupid crap like this...i'd suck it up and learn to accept it. if they're really that bad i dont want them leaving the game.
