In my original post if did state I would NEVER root for a player to get hurt. I have never and never will get in a fight over a sporting team, I like to talk to the other teams fans but getting in a fight over someones choice of team is stupid but thanks anyways.

Yankee's fans really are some of the worst fans I have ever seen. Booing Derek Jeter a couple of years ago when he started out the season in a huge slump, is one of the most pathetic thing I have ever seen. I thought the idea was to support players on your team, but I guess not for fair weather Yankee fans.

Like I said I agree with you that anyone that gets into a fight over team loyalties is just being stupid and usually it has more to do with booze than anything else.

The reason that people get so worked up about the Yankee's signing free agents and not other teams is no other team has a payroll even close to the yankees 200 mil. The White Sox signed one player, name another elite player they have signed in the last 3 years. Same with the Blue Jays. Yet every year the Yankees sign the biggest or two biggest free agents in the market.

Yes, Rhound is right, its just like Manchester United on the other side of the Atlantic, see how many of our Brits hate them. Its just the team just goes out and signs all the biggest names and stars they can while all the small markets have to sit out and watch. Its only natural for us to hate the big guys and root for the little ones dating all the way back to David and Goliath. Thankfully, those high money teams have been stinking it up recently while the teams that have raised the talent have shined (that will be the A's this year, World Series here we come!).
