I love baseball. I live 20 minutes walk from the best minor league park in the country. There is still a sense of love for the game here. $6 gets you a ticket to sit on the lawn in the outfield. Less than $20 for the best seat in the house. Championship teams. Attendance over 1 million, outdrawing a handful of pathetic MLB teams.

Up and comers on their way to the show. Career minor leaguers. Even a few Carribean players that are having work permit issues. Fans get called down on the field to do stupid contests like catch fly balls and win a car. Toss the local paper through the hole in the cardboard cutout and win a subscription for 6 months.

There was even a relief pitcher from OKC last year that liked to head down to the local B&M after the games here for some 3/6 action.

$10 will get you nachos, a hotdog, and a beer. And change.

I love baseball.

I live about 10 minutes from Joe Robbie Stadium (Or is it Dolphins Stadium... or is it Pro Player... or about the 1000 OTHER names), and I wouldn't go to a game if they were payin me by the pitch... I LOVE baseball, but the repeated assrapings the fans have taken down here are just downright harsh... Us Marlins fans are just waiting, counting the days till someone scoops up Dontrell or Cabrera... A sad day indeed... :-x

From Emmasdad's post I'm guessing he's talking about the Sacramento Rivercats, home of the AAA affiliate of THE Oakland A's (by the way Proof, that has to be one of the ugliest posted pictures on this site, though I'm sure there have been worse).

Baseball is still the best sport in the world, hands down. The history, the stats, the game itself is still awesome. I'm glad baseball has had a resurgence, as it should have. Going to see a baseball game live is the only way to do it, I believe it is much more entertaining then a live football game (a made for tv sport) and basketball (likewise).

I hate working, but this summer I'm gonna see if I can get a job with Stats Inc., they have a part time job where you go to games and enter into a computer every play. Imagine that, getting paid to go to A's games, it really doesn't get much better than that.
