Y'know I don't know... although I think if you like rock in general you'll like both of those bands, they're ska in the loosest sense of the word.

Side note, I once saw a metal band with a trumpet player. Was actually pretty cool.
Partake in my bollocks, bloody chav!

Well, i can answer molinas question i think. and its not everyday i get to regail someone with the story of ska, so thats tite.

Ska started out as being basically the same as reggae, real slow, with the upstroke on the guitar, and a horn section. this was known as first wave ska, bands like the skatalites, and oveans 11 and whatnot. Then the english (damn limeys) picked it up and pop-ified it and created what was known as second wave or two tone ska, bands like the specials, the selector, bad manners, and to some extent, madness, among about a billion other ones. The english stuff was faster and alot more upbeat, but kept the horn setion. Many a limp wristed limey skanked to the specials in the 70s and 80s. Then the third wave of ska started probably with operation ivy, which was way more punk than ska but utilized the upstroke of the guitar in alot of songs, which even though thier songs were mainly punk, gave it a bit of a ska sound. Then when OP ivy, who by the way is the stone cold uber-nuts of a band, turned into rancid, they did a bit more of this. Sublime was also a major influence in the third wave ska world, since they had alot of vey unabashed reggae influence. Anyways then bands started popping up playing punk rock with a ona fide horn section, and this developed into ska punk-- reel big fish, less than jake, save ferris, and about four hundred thousand other little bands, pretty much every one of which i saw live hwen i went to high school, which is why i now have only about 65% of my hearing left. Oh well.

oh incidentally, some nutty albums are these:
Crass- feeding of the 5000
Dead Kennedys- Fresh fruit for rotting vegetables
Operation ivy- opereation ivy
rancid-and out come the wolves
Ramones- live album
Social Distortion_ live at the roxy (This album is the nuts)
Jawbreaker-24hour revenge therapy

Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.
