If the CIA has to torture some terrorist who helped plan a mass murder against Americans citizens to help prevent the next mass murder, then that is self defense and is fine with me
The problem is that they just pick up anyone who looks like a terrorist (or in the case of the German citizen recently is unfortunate enough to have a similar sounding name).
Now the Russians are fighting some pretty nasty guys in Chechyna - remember them blowing up that school? I am sure they feel it's appropriate to take extreme measures.
I have to ask Ice, how would you feel if the Russian Government had kidnapped you, on holiday in Europe somewhere, because you had a similar name and they got confused, and then shipped you off into Kazahstan for a few months of torture to find out what you knew?
Are the Russians behaving acceptably? If your fellow US citizens found out about it do you really think they should just shrug their shoulders and go 'well the Russians are at war'so they have the right to do that to US citizens if they want'?
