You really think that the Eagles have a shot at an upset on the road against a good Giants team? And this is without McNabb or TO don't forget. I honestly don't see the Eagles winning the game but I'm not sure the Giants will cover the 7.5. Do the Giants have any important parts of the offense hurt this week?

I ended up doing something I probably shouldn't have done but it looked like fun.

I bet a 3 game parlay. Carolina -3, Dallas -8, Giants -7.5. I bet $5 and if I hit it I win $30.63 and if I lose, well hell, it's only $5. I figure this way I actually have a reason to root for other teams besides Dallas.

Any of you guys who bet on the NFL ever won a nice parlay? I wanted to stick Cleveland -2 at home in there as well, but it had a red square around it and Bodog doesn't let you include those games in Parlays. That would have increased the win to $63 which wouldn't have been a bad win for a $5 bet.

BTW, when looking at the games and their lines, what is a money line bet?

Iceman, I don't think your analogy to the Patriots is very good because the Patriots, while they may be banged up, are not playing with a backup QB with hardly any experience. McMahon did not play very much at all while he was in Detroit. They do get players to step it up to make up for starters that are out, but that one position, QB, is just too important IMHO.

That's ok k3nt. I didn't really mind that it was -EV. It was fun. And it was only $5. I did lose, but at least this time I actually gave a shit about whether or not the Carolina Panthers won. And rooting for the Giants was a new experience for me too. :D

BTW,

Cowboys covered (won by 13 on an -8 spread)
Giants covered (won by 10 on a -7.5 spread)
Carolina Panthers couldn't even beat a weak Chicago team let alone cover a 3 point spread. (Lost by 10 on a -3 spread)

Like I said, I just did this for a bit of fun. Truth be told, the game I had expected to go the way of the favorite more than the others was the Carolina game. So risking only $5 on the whole deal wasn't so bad. I imagine some of the others here (Iceman?) lost more than $5 on that game.

I know Piers was betting the over in the Cleveland / Miami game. I hope he didn't lose too much on that. I almost bet a $5 spot on the Browns. Oh well, could would shoulda I guess.

Oh, and 1 more thing, you don't call an all in on the flop with a flush draw?
