Top set in a mini raised pot

Postby kennyg » Mon Nov 14, 2005 4:46 am

2/4 NL

Dealt [8h][8c] in the CO. MP guy mini raises and there are a ton of callers.

FLOP$50
[2d][8d][4c]

Checked to me. I bet $30. Only the button calls.

TURN $110
[2d][8d][4c] [As]

I think there's a pretty resonable chance that guy paired an ace high flush draw. I check.
Button bets $60. I move allin....he calls off his last $200.

He has [Ad][9d] doesn't improve.

I'm not sure what i'm trying to show in those post. This was a pretty good bear trap though.

I think the check is good for the reasons kenny and MVP stated but I'm also wary as a hand like 56 can take the free card to hit their double gutshot and such like that. Also, the guy could have just a bare flush draw like 9Ts and you give him a free chance to hit it on the river. If you are pretty sure he will bet, i love the check raise. If you are unsure, I would bet.
