Called a raise with AQs and bluffing in a multiway pott

Postby Stoneburg » Fri Nov 11, 2005 5:14 pm

The theme today seems to be me going against my own advice

Maybe trying to find exceptions to the rule would be more accurate. In this case the preflop raiser was raising 25% of his hands.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)

SB ($23.84)
BB ($31.55)
UTG ($21.75)
UTG+1 ($21.25)
UTG+2 ($30.25)
MP1 ($35)
Hero ($26.60)
MP3 ($3.20)
CO ($25)
Button ($5.90)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with [Qd], [Ad]. SB posts a blind of $0.10. CO posts a blind of $0.25.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.25, UTG+2 raises to $1, 1 fold, Hero calls $1, 2 folds, Button calls $1, SB (poster) calls $0.90, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.75.

Flop: ($5.50) [7d], [4c], [7s] (5 players)
SB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets $4

If they're calling with just overcards he doesn't need to bet to win, he can check and win unless it's specifically AK.
