Flush Draw

Postby AlamedaMike » Thu Nov 10, 2005 10:49 am

A little help please.

After this hand was over I said, humm, I think I played it poorly.

We are heads up and I have a monster DRAW. I should have raised to take control of the hand and see where I was or folded. Since my had to too good to fold for $2.50 I called instead.

I played this hand like a limit hand and not like a no-limit hand. During the hand I wanted to push all-in on the flop and the Turn but did not.

FullTiltPoker Game #285699403: Table Spring Gate - $0.25/$0.50 - No Limit Hold'em -2005/11/10

Seat 2: doctor of dance ($99.30)
Seat 3: ElLocoMooso ($51.05)
Seat 4: AlamedaMike ($55.45)
Seat 5: GMAT ($73.50)
Seat 6: -4WS-Madman ($60.60)
Seat 7: Blantonboy513 ($45.60)
Seat 8: shivraj ($4.25)
Seat 9: Rounder63 ($59.55)
Rounder63 posts the small blind of $0.25
elkungo posts the big blind of $0.50
The button is in seat #8
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to AlamedaMike [Qs] [As]
doctor of dance folds
ElLocoMooso folds
AlamedaMike raises to $2
GMAT folds
-4WS-Madman folds
Blantonboy513 folds
shivraj calls $2
Rounder63 calls $1.75
elkungo folds

Pot $6.50

*** FLOP *** [4s] [Ks] [5d]
Rounder63 bets $2.50
AlamedaMike calls $2.50

Such good odds to draw if he has a King. So I called.

shivraj folds
*** TURN *** [5h]

Rounder63 bets $6

I missed my draw and the board is paired. Not good. The odds are down a little.

AlamedaMike calls $6

*** RIVER *** [Kc]

Rounder63 bets $7

The only hand I can beat here is a busted flush draw. Any one call here? THANKS

Just about nobody bets all streets with a busted flush draw. Fold the river.

But fold the turn first. You're not getting the odds to chase and even if you hit you could lose because he coudl have 54 55 KK or 44. Terrible situation.

And yes, raise the flop.

Got to raise the flop.....9 times out of 10 he will either fold or calyour raise and check to you on the turn giving you a free card. The way you played it, I would have folded to the turn bet....chasing flushes on a paired board is nothing but trouble.

Thanks for the advice - he showed a blusted flush draw [8s] [9s]

A raise on the flop would have taken control of the hand.

I folded the river.

I really should not be playing an read/replying on the forum at the same time. I am not as sharp as I was 30 years ago.

But, I like the forum and I like playing.
