88 clear fold?

Postby AlamedaMike » Fri Nov 04, 2005 11:31 am

I think this is a clear fold here - I can only beat over cards and a pair less than 7?

Thanks

I would fold that one most times unless I knew the guy was raising all sorts of stuff preflop. Even then, I still don't like it and would probably fold.

Seems to me he min raised preflop with KK or AA hoping you would come over the top. I think you can find a better place to invest your chips.

Thanks - we agree on that point. When I have a pocket pair I really want to set, even with AA, KK and QQ, like most people do before I put in a lot of chips.

Its a good fold...

He easily could have two big cards however. A min re-raise on the flop will likely get a fold if he does have AK. Or he will call hoping to catch then check the turn if he doesnt allowing you to bet again and get a fold. Making this play is risky though I only suggest it if you have some kinda of read on the player that he raises somewhat liberally pre-flop and likes to make contiunation bets.

Thanks - I have seen this player turn over good cards when he raises.
