AQ out of position

Postby kennyg » Thu Nov 03, 2005 3:17 am

2/4

Opponent has $1000 in chips. He's a little loose and seems like a break even kind of player. He got his stack by betting a gutshot and hitting on the river.

I'm dealt [Ah][Qh] in the SB.

One limper, I raise to $14 (misclick.) BB calls. limper calls.

FLOP $42
[Qs][4c][4h]

I bet $32. BB (opponent listed above) raises to $64. Limper folds. back to me...I almost reraise...but figure I'm either way ahead or way behind. I call.

TURN $106
[Qs][4c][4h] [2s]

I check. BB bets $100. I call.

RIVER $306
[Qs][4c][4h][2s] [9d]
I bet $100.

Results later.

What do you think?

I like it as long as youre folding to a raise on the river.

Which was my idea. I figured at the end he would be hardpressed to even raise AA there...so it was kinda like a blocking bet and a value bet at the same time.

He had [Jd][Qd] and I took it down.
