QTs pair + flush draw

Postby ua1176 » Thu Nov 03, 2005 1:26 am

$50NL 6-max at prima.

same loose fishy table as the AA hand, about 10 minutes later.

UTG and UTG+ 1 limp, CO folds, i raise from the Button to $2 with [Qs][Ts]. blinds fold..both EP limpers call. i have $100, UTG has $80, UTG+1 has $37. the SB has been chatting about how im an overaggressive idiot and how he's eventually going to break me. he's the only player at the table who covers me. thankfully he's not in this hand.

flop: [Td][4s][2s]
pot size: $6.75

UTG checks. UTG+1 leads for $9. i raise to $25. thoughts?

A solid aggressive raise.

UTG+1 just bet $9 leaving $28 stack. Your bet makes it $16 for him to call. If he re-raises or calls-bets turn you pretty much have to call off his last $12. His overbet of $9 makes me think he has a 10 with a 9-A kicker.. If he pushes he very well could have (A or K - 10) so you are calling on a flush draw. However he could push with a worse kicker (or some retarded hand like 88) if he is a weak player or thinks you are bullshitting.

NOTE: in some spots this can be a bad raise (i.e. if UTG+1 is a tight player). However, you have an aggressive image which will increases the likely hood of getting called/raised with a hand like 10-J or lower pp.
