Geing min raiosed on the flop ($25NL)

Postby Zuccala » Wed Nov 02, 2005 9:04 am

Hey guys,

Today i had to hands KK and AA and bet my normal continuation bet into a all under non-coordinated flop. Both times I was min-raised (not same player or table). I am let go both times. Do you think this is too weak. I mean at $25Nl the possibility of them having ANYTHING with a min-raise is enough to let go?? I had no reads on either player. What do u guys think?

I think it is weak. My experience is that a miniraise on the flop doesn't mean that much. It could be TP, it could be a draw, it could be a monster but it could also be nothing. A miniraise on the turn however...

So from there i guess my options are to call (yuck) or push?? Cause more likely than not its all going in on the turn. Correct??

I assume you are out of position? I think you can re-raise and then fold if he pushes, or you can do a stop-and-go. I am NOT folding AA to a miniraise from a player I don't have a read on, but I'd rather not play for my stack either. I prefer making a nice re-raise, at least twice the first bet, but a stop-and-go might be better.

Min raises are VERY read dependant. This should be one thing you make very clear notes about when someone does it (especialy in a raised pot), when youre not in the hand.

I know lots of people who min raise in raised pote EVERY time they have a set. Others do it with junk trying to slow you down. In full ring games, its more likely to be a monster than in 6 max.

I'll say this. If he min raises you and is willing to play a HUGE pot. He has you beat 90% of the time.

I only had $20 behind me after the CB. So it was a push or fold situation? If i did 3x his raise i only woulda had $5 left. Does that make me weak-tight??I just did not want to play for my stack.
