Villan is loose aggressive. VPIP 50% PFR 7%. He has a huge stack as do I. I would like comments on all streets. MP2 is Tight Aggressive.

Preflop: Playing it safe. Don't want to overcommit myself in the event I'm facing AA. Should I have reraised with the deep stacks?

Flop: Here I was hoping the preflop reraiser would make a raise at some point, but he didn't. I thought he was loaded with AA or maybe QQ or even AK.

Turn: Time to push hard. Reraise big enough?

River: River bet sufficient size?

Pre-flop: I re-raise to 30, because I am out of position and to build the pot bigger while I am a favorite (probably).

Two ways to play afterwards:

1. Str8 forward --
Flop: Bet 1/2 the pot. A normal continuation bet.

Turn: bet 2/3 of pot. Want to get him pot committed.

River: Bet the Pot. A value bet could be considered but Pot sized is best. The other player obviously has a fairly strong hand. A lower set is calling and AK will be tough to lay down.

2. Tricky (against players who are aggressive) --
Flop: Bet out $30. An underbet which looks like a feeler bet. You will often get re-raised with this bet (by AK) or get sem-bluffed at by JJ or AQ or flush draw. If re-raised smooth call

Turn: Check. If he raises big then re-raise all-in. If he bets avg then double it. (If he checks behind he semi-bluffed you on the flop with JJ or AQ or Flush draw.)

River: push it all-in or bet 2/3 pot which ever is less. By now he should be too pot committed to fold (AK or QQ). (If he checked turn, you should value bet here for 1/2 of pot ... could check hoping to induce a bluff by a missed flush; however this is the only hand that would bluff. Any pocket pair or AQ will check to see a showdown)


IF smooth called like you preflop:
Flop: you have to raise here and build the pot. re-raise to 45

Turn: bet 100

River: bet 200

I think you have to decide here if you want to go for his stack (high risk, high reward), or you want value for your hand (low risk, lower reward). If you want to get some value, your play is good and I would probably go for it most of the time. The classic set play of getting aggressive on the turn works great.

If you want to go for his stack, you have to lead the flop, between 1/2 pot to pot size.
You hope he raises, you call the flop, then check-raise strong on the turn and try to get the money in the middle.

You need to have an idea on how aggressive he is. Is he going to force AA here or can get away from it? WIth QQ you should clearly be able to stack him. If he is aggresive, you check-raise the turn. If he is more passive, you might want to continue betting the turn.

That being said, you won 275 from him, from a stack of 520. I think that's very good, and he really has to be "stackable" for the other line of play to be the correct one.
