Hey guys, I think i got over excited and greedy on the turn on this hand and lost alot of value. Some help here would be great.

$25NL (loose-passive table)

I get dealt [Jh] in SB

5 limpers to me and i raise $2 and get 4 calls (ughh) Pot:$10.35 (i think)

The flop comes [9s][Js]

I lead for $2 and get 2 calls pot:$16.35

turn

I lead for $5 and get miniraised by MP1 who is now ALL-IN and MP2 cold calls!!
Mp2 has me covered so I now push, and he folds

river was a blank and i took the pot

MP1 had [9d]

Now here are my qustions:

1. How was the CB?? I did not want to check cause it would look suspect? I also hit such a good flop i did not want to pot it in case i got all folds. What to do here??

2. How was the turn bet? It gives odds to chase, Was this OK??

3. Instead of pushing should i have called the miniraise on the turn and value bet the river? MP2 did have me covered and its a shame he folded. Thanks guys!

I think it just goes to show that most of the time when you win a big pot you have a big hand and your opponent has a big hand that is slightly slower. You're going to win a big pot here every time not based on your post flop play but because your good preflop play. He called a raise with Ax and paid the price.

I don't mind the small potbet since there is practically no chance of you getting out drawn (1-2 outs), I probably play it exactly the same.

Ice you would be right at the level you play but at the $25 level, the players arent at that level.

Zuccala ice does make a good point that you should remeber when you move up levels, but at the $25 table I think the small bet on the flop is fine. Let someone catch their flush or str8 for cheap and pay you off. The only thing I would have done differently is the turn. I would have jsut called the all in instead of reraising. You have the best hand no question and there is very little that can draw out on you, other than a big over pair. He cold called the other raise he could be on a draw, if he has a 9 or an overpair you are going to get his stack either way but the overraise, screams monster hand and he is going to fold a draw. I would have just called and pushed in on the river.

$25 NL = I know
$50 NL = You know that I know.
$100 NL = You know that I know that you know.
$200 NL = You know that I know that you know that I know.
And so on.

I am currently at the $25 limit and I find that you do more damage to yourself at this level when you try to out-think yourself. If you play straight up you win more than you lose. You may run into someone smarter than most of the other players occasionally, but you win more times than not with straight foward play. This is just my experience at the $25NL level at Party. I could be wrong and feel free to disagree.
