MP was fairly tight, so he most likely was raising big cards. My plan was to push on any non-AKQ flop.

Alternatively, I could have raised all-in pre-flop. I just didn't want him to call with AK and then hit an A or K on the turn/river.

Now that I'm in the hand, I had to play it. I figured this flop probably missed him, I showed tremendous strength by min-raising a min-raise, and I'm in bad shape if I lose this pot, so I'll just push here and see what happens. If I get called, I still have outs. It's unlikely he has a big pair since he didn't raise me back.

I do not advocate making a crazy play like this, but it's still a stop-n-go variation.

I really, really, really hope you showed hand #2.
Actually, if it was a full table I would definetly show it, talk about advertising, when it's down to shorthanded you want people to respect your raises so...

Hand #1 I probably just push preflop since your hand figures to be best most of the time and 12bb is low enough for not to want to play postflop unless I have to (below 10bb I would always push/fold). Obviously there are advantages to your way of doing it but I don't want to give him a chance to suck out for free, he will fold a lot of hands that are coinflips that I don't want to let in, like KQ, JT etc.

I also don't want to risk getting bluffed off the best hand, say a K flops, you check and he bets with AQ or JT. Your move is probably better against a somewhat tight preflop raiser whereas it's better to push against a loose raiser (more fold equity and dominated hands).
