This was in my home game, 2 tight and 2 lose players (and me, generally viewed as the most agressive player in the game).
5 handed, 1 and 2 blinds, NL holdem
SB just rebought for 20 and is pretty much a calling station. UTG is relativly new and pretty unimaginative, but still somewhat solid. UTG has also not played a hand in about 5 rounds (which is unusual for this relativly loose home game). BB folds, UTG calls for 2, UTG + 1 folds. Jus (with Qs Qc) on the button raises to 6. SB calls, UTG calls 4. At this point Jus is sitting on the big stack with about 55 , UTG has about 35.
Flop comes Ad, Qh, 9d.
SB bets 3, UTG raises to 9. pot is 30at this point, SB has 11, UTG has 24, Jus has 55 (stack sizes may have been different, dont remember exactly).
I pretty much knew that whatever I bet the SB was going to call. Jus raises to 18, SB goes all in, UTG calls.
Turn was 8d. UTG checks, Jus bets 5 or 8(dont quite remeber which), UTG calls
River was 6c, check check.
Results in white below
SB had Ks,9s (1 pair)
UTG had Jh,10c for Straghit q to 8
Jus had trip queens
How would you play this/How could I have played this better?
Knowing that the small blind was going to call pretty much seems to give UTG almost the exact odds that he needs to play almost any reasonable drawing hand after the flop.
Besides going all in before the flop (which might have gotten two callers anyway, the sb was probably going to call anything at this point) I dont know if there was another way to play this. And it seems that going all in with at least 1 (if not 2 or 3 overcards) out there is also a very iffy play. At the same time I dont really want to be calling with Queens.
Thoughts?
