6 max $1/$2 NL

My 1st hand at the table and IM in the BB with 44. UTG limps....SB raises to $6...I call and UTG calls.

Pot $18. Flop comes JT4. SB checks, I bet $12, UTG calls and SB folds.
Pot $42. Turn A. I bet $20 and he raises to $60. He started the hand with $150 so its $40 to me and he has another $72 behind.

I only bet $20 at the turn because I was afraid he might have KQ. So he raises me now and he could easily have KQ, AJ, AT, JT or just an ace I guess, if hes agressive.

Whats your play? Are you willing to play for your stack since you are ahead of alot of hands he could have?

I play for my stack everytime. Even if he has KQ you have 9 outs, other than that you're way ahead. AA is definetly out (he's not calling the flop), so you're behind JJ or TT, which I don't think he's check calling the flop with. AK is a definite possibility. EIther way, I play for my stack, if I lose, that's why you have a bankroll.

Dave I think he has 10 outs not 9 but same difference really. You cant fold here Ice, there are so many hands that he could be playing that you have beat. AK, AQ, AK, J10, A10, KK, QQ. KQ does seem like a possibilty, but can you really fold a set here?? I cant. You could also possibly be behind a bigger set and this is a likely way someone would play a set on this board. I dont know I push and pray, even if he does per chance have KQ you still win one in four on the river.

Trodgers, the reason I hate a call here is you have no idea what you want to see on the river other than the case 4. Any board pair over you could be enough to scare someone into folding KQ. Or worse someone with A10 folds to another J or someone with J10 folds to another A. Plus a bigger board pair can make someone a bigger boat. His raise is enough to pretty much pot commit you with a set, so either push or fold. Drogga make a good point that the $20 bet looks weak so you could also be ahead of a bluff or semibluff with a pair and a gutshot.

Rhound, your post sounds to me like the reason that you should push, not the reason why you shouldnt
