I thought this hand was played very well.

2/4NL

Dealt [Jc][Jd] in LP.

Couple of limpers. I riase to $20. UTG calls. UTG is a decent, break even player.

FLOP$ 48
[Tc][4c][7c]

Opponent leads for $50. I hesiate.

My first thought was raise.. but then I thought about it. It's unlikely he had a made flush or set. A player like him well most often slow play a hand like that. I could see him betting the [Ac] here..or maybe QQ. Leaning more towards a draw though. Anyway, I don't like getting into raising wars in a coinflip..so I just call.

TURN $$148
[Tc][4c][7c][Js]

Pretty card. Opponent leads for $50 again. I move in for his last $200. He waits exactly ten seconds and calls.

River is a brick and he mucks [Qd][Ac] for the ace high flush draw and two overs.

Lets say the turn was a 2h and he makes the same bet, what do you do then?

MHFlush... it's funny that you say that because honestly folding never crossed my mind. I should have at least though about it.... btw..I don't think I've ever seen a player lead out for full pot with a set. It's so rare I just discount the possibilty.

Tokenizer.. I would have moved all-in. If the turn was a non club (barring a high card) that was my plan. Granted the jack made it hella easy. The problem is I might have done the same thing if a queen hit. king or ace would have put the brakes on certainly.

One other thing...I don't play this great all the time. I seem to remember losing with TPTK to a set twice in two days now. :)

If I had a set I would bet for sure the whole pot on this dangerous flop... This is a perfect scenario against flush chasers. They will call anyway.

Btw after rethinking I think calling is the best. He could have tried to bluff you. Often guys lead into the raiser on flops where they think the flop missed the raiser.

He actually had an additional 3 outs for the gutshot nut straight as well, so 12 nut outs and 2 overs on the turn, 18 outs if you have something stupid like an underpair. Against this hand it looks like you played it perfectly. You just called on the flop where it is a coinflip then move in on the turn when you're a substantial favorite, which would have been the right thing to do even if the J hadn't hit.

My first instinct would have been to raise the flop, putting him on the [Ac] but since he called a raise UTG I have to assume he has a good kicker with the A so I should be able to figure out I'm a small dog at the time and it is btter to see a safe turn card before committing. If he's the kind of person to slowplay QQ-AA upfront I'd be real worried though.
