$50NL @ Prima (like always).

Villain limps UTG. he's semi-loose/aggressive, pretty good. likes to play a short stack when he starts a session. he's the same Villain from my straight flush post, incidentally. he's got $16 behind him and i cover by a lot. i limp UTG+1 w/ [Qc]. folds to SB, who completes. BB checks.

flop:
pot size: $2

checks to me. i bet $2. both blinds fold, villain calls.

turn:
pot size: $6

well...that's as brick-ish of a card as possible. villain checks. i bet $5. villain check-raises all-in for $13.50. so it's $8.50 for me to call and there's $24.50 in the pot.

is this an easy call getting 3-1? or is it obvious that im beat?

edit: we can safely remove AA and KK from villain's possible holdings. he raises extra-large preflop with those hands.

I'd make the marignal call. I think you're getting decent enough odds to see something like KJ, or KT. It's other one of those hands where I don't think either play is particulary good, or bad for that matter.

I muck it preflop as well. Maybe, you could open a pot in LP with this hand, but not up front. As a rule I usually flod and TP/TK or TP/GK hand on the turn to a raise. I mean I am sure there are times when someone is making a play at me, or semi-bluffing....but.....at $50NL and $25NL let them have it. At this point you usually do not have much investede in the pot and it is very cheap to let it go.IMO.

i called. he raises big (6-8bb) preflop w/ AA or KK. and im almost sure he always raises AK preflop, too. it was either a set or a bluff, in my opinion. and from what i've seen over 2000+ hands...he plays his sets faster on the flop. so i was willing to put my money on a bluff. he had TT and the river didnt change anything.
