The Numbers Game

Postby 80Proof » Tue Oct 11, 2005 5:03 am

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I figure some number clarification would be good (for me at least). Is it correct that PT numbers should be in the following ballparks for low end NL (25, 50NL)??

VPiP: 15%
W$WSF: > 27
PFR% 4-6%:
Went to SD%: <24
Won at SD%: >52
PTBB/100: 10

And for the PTBB/100, does that actually mean 20 real BB per 100 hands? So if my winrate is 9PTBB/100 and I 3 table 50NL, that would mean that I am making 18 BBs=(0.50*18)=$9 per every 100 hands dealt at the 3 tables combined. At what level would I expect my PTBB/100 to decrease to less than 10?

Damn, thats a lot of questions. Thanks in advance to whoever wants to try to tackle that one.

You're right about 10 PTBB/100 meaning 20 real BB per 100 hands. I'd say that you don't necessairly need your PFR to be as high as a lot of the time at low stakes you want to see a cheap flop and absoloutely push your hands to the max when you hit and laugh as peopel call with middle pair no kicker against your AQ on a Q72 flop. I think the Won at SD% should be in the upper 50s, maybe around 57/58 is definitely achievable and sustainable at those levels I'd say that 10ptbb/100 is sustainable all the way up to NL100 where you might see a slight drop.

Hope that helps a bit :)
Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
