My good play or his bad play?

Postby AlamdeaMike » Fri Oct 07, 2005 1:10 pm

Full table. I was afraid that he was going to fold.

FullTiltPoker Game #244125577: Table Casino Center - $0.25/$0.50 - No Limit Hold'em - 14:31:45 ET - 2005/10/07

Seat 8: AlamedaMike ($45.55)
The button is in seat #3

*** HOLE CARDS ***

Dealt to AlamedaMike [7d] [7c]

2 fold, AlamedaMike calls $0.50 , 2 fold, shmoosh raises to $1.50, 3 fold , AlamedaMike calls $1

*** FLOP *** $3.75 [7s] [6h] [2c]

What was that phrase? Dip me in chocolate and toss me to some hot chicks

AlamedaMike bets $2, shmoosh raises to $5, AlamedaMike raises to $12, shmoosh calls $7

*** TURN *** $27.75 [4d]

AlamedaMike bets $15, shmoosh raises to $35, AlamedaMike calls $17.05, and is all in

shmoosh shows [Kc] [Kh]
AlamedaMike shows [7d] [7c]

*** RIVER *** [2s]

shmoosh shows two pair, Kings and Twos
AlamedaMike shows a full house, Sevens full of Twos
AlamedaMike wins the pot ($88.85) with a full house, Sevens full of Twos
Don't lose your entire stack in an unraised pot or with only one pair.

i guess he didn't play it terrible if he put you on a less pocket pair but your reraise on the flop should be warnings for him. Since he's not that good, he probably wouldn't check behind on the turn so I would call his raise on the flop to make it look like you have TT or something and check raise him on the turn. However, since he obviously can't fold an overpair, this play is fine too.

Looks to me like nothing you could do would convince him to fold. So I have to say ... his bad play. Not that you played it badly!! Just a wonderful situation against a typical can't-fold-his-big-pairs kinda guy.

This is just a good flop for you. This shows exactly why small PP's can be such good money makers. Your opponant didnt play his hand horribly, some people just cant fold an overpair. If it were me playing this hand, I wouldn't have made the second raise on the flop as small. Reraising his raise only $7 screams I HAVE A MONSTER and dont want you to fold. The good news is you were playing a players that cant fold an overpair.

I'd fold KK to your flop re-re-raise. And I'm not very good. So his bad play. ;)
