Nice analysis, EP9! That's why I posted this hand, because I wanted to know if you guys would value bet this. I just hated the way the cards fell, and I checked out of frustration, expecting to see the chips go in another direction than mine.

It was checked through. MP3 didn't show [4s] and CO didn't show [3s]. I missed a bet there, and it pissed me off.


Ps. I actually started rereading SSHE last night. It's been almost six months since I last read it, and it's a damn good book, although I think the preflop recommendations are way loose.

Hell, you shouldn't be upset, you should be proud of yourself. Many decent players would just check that river, and then be overjoyed that the kings managed to hold up. For that reason, all they'll ever be is decent. A sign of a player destined for greater things is that they're always looking at their performance, rather then the results. Having the clarity of vision to analyze and evaluate hands like this to see how you could've played better is a sure sign of a player that's only going to improve.

Errrrr, I think that pep talk wound up being more for me than for you! I still occasionally slip into the bad habit of looking only at results, seperating my hands into "hands I won" vs. "hands where those fuckers got lucky and shanked me." Fortunately, this forum always reminds me how much I still have to learn.
