Rivered underfull re-re-re-raise? Or just call?

Postby bene » Sat Oct 01, 2005 9:32 pm

I don't have much info on the villian. Only hand we've been involved in is a hand where he didn't laydown his a8 vs. my ak on a ak8 flop after I reraised three dollars from the blind to a min raise. I checked the flop, he bets 10, gets a caller and I move in for 22. So, he may have called just on the amount that was already in the pot.. Other than that just that he's sitting on 130 bones (which doesn't mean too much, really)..

Sorry about the format, the converter wasn't working for me

Yeah, I call. He may have the straight and you win, but he may also have AT or KT.

I also don't understand why you didn't bet the turn here. 2 pair is imo enough hand to bet, and it would help to clarify what you're up against on the river.

I really fear AT or KT and just call. In fact, I think you're probably behind.

If this guy didn't bet out his 2pr on the flop OR turn, I'd be amazed... I'm pretty sure you're ahead, but you can't reraise here... Maybe, like Ais said, if you would've bet out the turn when everyone is BEGGING for someone to steal the pot, you could've gotten some info as to what this doofus has... But, as it is, his hand is a TOTAL mystery, and ya gotta call...

I agree...there are times when you're 90% sure you're ahead, but don't want to get stacked if you're wrong...just call expecting to win.
